About us
Cotejo Mercados is an independent editorial publication that analyses online trading platforms from the point of view of someone trading from Peru. We are not IQ Option, we are not part of its structure and we do not represent any broker before Peruvian users. Our work consists of explaining, in plain language, how these platforms work and what is worth checking before putting money in.
Why this site exists
Most of what can be found online about international brokers is written for another market: other currencies, other payment methods, another regulatory framework. A reader in Lima, Arequipa or Trujillo has different questions — what happens with soles, whether a withdrawal reaches a local wallet, what it means that the platform is not listed with the SBS — and those questions are almost never answered precisely. This site is dedicated to that.
How we work
Our method is documentary assessment, not laboratory testing. We do not publish figures we cannot support, and we prefer to describe a mechanism rather than invent a number:
- We start from the operator's own public documentation and from official Peruvian sources when the subject is regulatory or tax-related.
- When a figure is volatile — minimum amounts, available payment methods, processing times — we write it as an order of magnitude and ask the reader to confirm it in their own account before deciding.
- We always distinguish between a trading loss and a service problem. They are different things, and mixing them misinforms.
- We do not publish screenshots, testimonials or results we cannot attribute. If something cannot be verified, we say that it cannot be verified.
What we do not do
- We do not give investment recommendations or trading signals. Nothing we publish is financial advice.
- We do not promise returns. Trading digital options, FX and CFDs involves a high risk of losing the invested capital.
- We do not manage accounts, we do not receive deposits and we do not intervene in withdrawals. If you have a problem with your account, the channel is the operator's own support.
- We do not publish content aimed at people under 18.
Who signs it
The editorial line is the responsibility of Rocío Cárdenas, Brokers and Markets Editor, who reviews every guide before publication and handles later corrections. Pages carry the date of their last update because the conditions of these platforms change frequently.
How we are funded
The site is sustained by affiliate links: if you open an account through one of them, we may receive a commission from the operator, at no additional cost to you. That does not condition what we write, and the weak points we find are published all the same. The full detail is in our affiliate disclosure.
